VISA FEES (ENTRANCE)
For individuals, the entrance visa to Syria
should be obtained 15 days in advance from the Syrian Embassy or Consulate
in your country. If you do not have a Syrian representative in your country,
please check with our Travel & Tourism office to see if you can obtain a
visa at the airport or border crossing point. For GROUPS (minimum 8
persons): For such groups visas are given free of charge upon arrival but
have to be pre-arranged from within Syria.
DEPARTURE TAX (ALL
NATIONALITIES)
From the airport, the departure tax is $ US
4 per person.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Souks and Bazaars are closed on Fridays as
well as during the Islamic Feast.
People wearing shorts or sleeveless tops will be asked to wear a cape
provided by the mosque administration.
Ask permission before taking photos. However, you will find most locals very
receptive and hospitable to this request.
Always take extra care while walking around ancient ruins.
Take care between the months of May and August as the heat and sun can get
extreme.
ENTRANCE FEES TO PLACES
Entrance to museums and ruins ranges from
$3 to $16 US. The most expensive tourist attraction is Palmyra ($ US 16),
however most other places average $ US 5. |
